THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROCEDURE IS TO GUIDE AN INSPECTOR THROUGH THE PROCESS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE ALL LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS WHEN AN EXAMINER APPLIES FOR ADDITIONAL PRIVILEGES.
Applying for additional privileges must be performed on the “Examiner application form” found on the Examiners intranet. Once the form has been received, it must be saved in the WorkZone system on the personal file.
There are no requirements for an Examiner applying for additional Examiner privileges to participate in the Examiner seminar before practical training is attended, but if it is not done, the applicants Examiner certificate, will not get a new expiry date. If the Examiner decides to attend an Examiner seminar before practical training, he will get a new date in his Examiner certificate. The Danish CAA accepts if the applicant has either attended a Danish, Norwegian or Swedish Examiner seminar.
Practical training can only be performed by Inspectors and Senior Examiners. The Examiner coordinator will appoint the Inspector or Senior Examiner to perform this training case by case. Even though it is not a requirement it will preferable be an Inspector or a Senior Examiner holding the same privileges as the ones the Examiner applicant is seeking.
For the practical training the applicant must book the simulator or aircraft used for the training, and he must bring appropriate rated pilots who will function as dummies. The planning process must be done via mails, to avoid any misunderstandings.
In this part of the process it is very important, that the Examiner applicant is informed of costs and fees for this training. The applicant must cover all costs for dummies, simulator, aircraft, transportation and accommodation of all persons involved. Furthermore he must pay the Examiner certificate issue fee as described in Fee note.
The amount of training required depends on the Examiner privileges applied for. FE and FIE requires a minimum of 2 training flights and all other Examiner certificates requires minimum 4 training flights. Furthermore a minimum of 2 training flights per privilege applied for is required for instance a FE(A) with privileges for LAPL, PPL and CPL would require 6 training flights.
The regulation accepts that 2 training flights can be performed in 1 flight. This will always be accepted if 2 Examiners takes the training together.
If the Examiner privileges include instrument privileges a minimum of 2 training flights must be in simulator of the same type as the aircraft. If no simulator exists of this type an equivalent simulator type may be used.
Once the training has been successfully completed and the progress test is passed, the Examiner applicant must pass an Examiner assessment of competence.
This assessment must be performed by a Senior Examiner or an Inspector preferably rated on the type. This however is not a requirement and the Examiner coordinator can in all cases disregard this requirement.
The Examiner assessment of competence must be performed on the “Examiner assessment of competence” form found on the Examiners intranet.
Once the Examiner assessment of competence is passed and documentation is received, it must be saved on the Examiner applicant personal file in the CAPTIA system together with all training documentation.
Now the Examiner must be registered in the Examiner database which is an ACCESS database designed to include all Examiner information. The information must be entered manual and abbreviations as described on the Examiner certificate shall be used. Personal details, the last entry area in the database, shall only be filled out, if requested by the applicant.
When the Examiner database is updated, the licence and the attached letter must be printed, stamped and signed by issuing Inspector.
This is done in the word file “Examiner certificate” and “Examiner brev” where the relevant Examiner is entered and printed. Always double check Examiner details with T-sys in case of changes in personal information.
The last step is to enter examiner details and Examiner assessment of competence date in “Examiner gebyrer ikke registreret”. By doing this, the Examiner certificate issuing fee, will be send to the Examiner applicant.
